the internal and subjective component of sense perceptions, arising from stimulation of the senses by phenomena.
QUALIATIK is the multimedia project of producer, singer, songwriter, and new media artist Arielle Herman, who began making music while studying neuroscience at Haverford College. Known for her dynamic live show, her feverishly introspective music molds sound into deep and nuanced emotional landscapes, and has been described as “ethereal, restless, and bursting with life”. QUALIATIK's work explores psyche, identity, and empathy, drawing a sharp arrow inward and following its path toward an eager probing of the human experience and the profundity of compassion.
QUALIATIK has performed alongside RP Boo at VIA Festival, Jessy Lanza at Gorilla vs. Bear's Texas Summer Festival, as an opener for Drake and Kelela at SXSW's FADER Fort, as direct support at Taiwanese rapper Aristophanes' album release show, and on Japanese producer Seiho's US tour. QUALIATIK also performed and spoke at Deepak Chopra's Science of Consciousness Conference during her summer 2017 US tour. Her passionately DIY, autodidactic approach finds her conceptualizing, creating, and executing every aspect of her work. Her 3D accompaniment for her live show transforms the experience into a visceral array of pulsing textures. QUALIATIK is based in Brooklyn, NY.
